What the Pho?

When I came to Korea two years ago, I managed to find a Pho restaurant in Seoul which turned out to be a huuuge disappointment. Being a Pho lover, I was quite saddened by the fact that the delicious noodle soup I was used to eating back at home tasted like shizznaz here in Korea.

Well here I am in Korea in 2010, wait... 2011, and to my pleasant surprise it seems that Pho has gained more popularity. I've been to several Pho restaurants around Seoul and decided to blog about this particular restaurant because... well because I just happened to have my camera with me when I was hungry.

What the Pho is located near Yaksu station (exit 4) above a Dunkin' Donuts.

I love Pho... and Donuts.

The beef broth was quite tasty and there was plenty of meat in the soup. The broth is very rich and flavorful.

I love my bean sprouts.

In the left corner you can see the sriracha mixed onions that we're used to in Ktown... but the thing is... the sauce tastes quite different. It's still sriracha, I think, but the flavor is much more sour. I didn't like it very much at first but now I've grown quite accustomed to it.

yum diggity.
Side dishes... nothing too unique really.

Gotta have my jalapeno peppers.
I just like this picture.

Mmmm.
In my true fashion...

More please.
This place has great Pho and I quite enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. The only thing is... ehhh Pho is a bit more pricy than back in the States. I'm used to paying $5.00 at Pho Mania in Ktown... at What the Pho, a bowl costs about 9,000 won (about $7 ~ $8 USD).

$17,000 won?! What the pho...
I miss cheap Pho in Ktown :*(
